摘要:A subgroup H of the circle group T is said to be characterized by a sequence u = (u_n)n∈N of integers, if H = {x ∈ T : u_nx → 0}. Due to their remarkable properties, these subgroups were thoroughly investigated in various areas of Mathematics, including, but not limited to Descriptive Set Theory, Algebra, Analysis and Topology.
Recently generalizations of this notion were introduced based on weaker notions of convergence, starting from statistical convergence, α-statistical convergence and ending with I-convergence for I an ideal of N.
This talk is focused on the wealth of recent results and open problems on I-characterized subgroups of T compared to those on characterized subgroups of T.
