双周三学术报告会:Some efficient energy-preserving algorithms based on the partitioned averaged vector field method

ABSTRACT:In this talk we will first introduce the standard averaged vector field (AVF) method for general Hamiltonian systems and then the partition strategy to construct more efficient energy-preserving algorithms for multi-components Hamiltonian systems. Further combing the exponential integrator, our method can not only keep the energy preserved but also be suitable for solving highly oscillatory problems. For single-component systems, we take the conservative sine-Gordon equation and dissipative Allen-Cahn equation for examples, and propose a variant of the partitioned AVF method that admits a pointwise and parallel implementation. Some numerical tests are carried out to illustrate the efficiency and conservation/dissipation of the proposed methods.
